@diz08 me, for one...I had those toys...

I had one of these and a few strips. how they worked is there's varying ridges on the strip and that represents a spoken word. I was able to get those strip to make my fingernail talk lol. I wish I still had these. very cool and low tech technology. the speaker in the shell is just a mechanical diapram like that on a gramophone.

I had these when I was a kid, but I lost the strips and my mom wouldn't buy me any more :( I still have them somewhere in a box... :)

@diz08 i think this was when the ninja turtles were starting the "Has been" status, when people were starting to not care for them anymore, and the creators were doing ANYTHING they could to stay on top. Seriously, in the final days of the 80s/early 90's version of the ninja turtles series, they had some of the dumbest action figures/toys/etc. imaginable.
