The part where Joan Crawford (portrayed by Faye Dunaway) dies, and Christina and Christopher Crawford learns what they will receive in the will. And Christina says "Does she?" Referring to Christopher's comment "She always has to have the last word." Or something to do with that. And Joan's care giving/house keeper says to Christina "She always loved you." And Christina says "I needed to hear that."

  • By not leaving anything in her will to Christina, Joan made her adopted daughter a FAR wealthier woman than if she would have been had Joan only divided her estate equally among ALL her children. After Crawford died, and before the movie and the book came out...Joan's reputation was that of old "hollywood royalty" and her "real" children inherited a few million dollars each. After they came out Joan's reputation was ruined and Christina made TENS of millions!

    True or not...Tina wins!

  • The Joan Crawford freaks probably abuse their own children.I have no sympathy for the horrible rotten skank and i hope she rots.IDGAF if she was talented or not ,she was a horrible person and a drunk. If she wasn't famous you Joan freaks would be slamming her for the person she was,A horrible jealous, hag of a woman who was so paranoid and insecure that she took it out on defenseless children

  • Joan Crawford may have been a legend in her heyday. But she was a horrid despicable mother! Goddamn Cunt should never been allowed to adopt kids! Christopher & Christina deserved much better! Her reputation has been damaged! GOOD! I hope the Bitch is burning in hell! Absolutely no excuse to abuse her children.

  • May the bitch Joan Crawford rot in hell!!

  • @MichaelSxe555 when it came to two things. How the lincoln County Sherrif looked like for starters, and we had one that we all didn't even like. He drained alot of finances for our county. 2nd is the way that Jessica Steen had to drive, well, both were exaggerated. I just read the book "mommie dearest" and I just felt that she was wrong.

  • @MichaelSxe555 Should of figured how hollywood is. If anyone ever watched "When angel's interviene, to save the children" and it is about an elementary school being held hostage with a bomb and yes it did go off. Long story short. My aunt at the time she was promoted from dispatch to emergency management and she had to work like heck to diffuse the situation, and negotiate stuff.

  • @Wyomingite101 Christina never said the book was exaggerated! She said the movie exaggerated.

  • I did enjoy this movie overall for entertainment only, but the funeral scene at the end totally sucked.

  • @Wyomingite101 So, trust me. Growning up with a mom from this timeframe, I never was abused. But if I needed a good butt kicking, well, I knew better than to claim abuse. Abuse during their times was huge, but not any more.

  • Way I look at it is this. We are not in either Joan Crawfords shoes or Christina Crawford, along with her brother Christopher. An abused person can't be detected. They do keep quiet, and trust me on that.

But after finding out that the book "Mommie Dearest" was pretty much exaggerated, well, can we trust what Christina will say in a new book? I know in time on judgement day, the truth will come out.

  • You know, I really doubt Joan was all that horrible. I think she had bad clashes with some of her adopted children, but nothing like is portrayed in this movie or book.

  • @pummieb Yeah, I am pretty sure the truth is inbetween somewhere. I doubt either one of them is a saint. I would never dream of leaving my children out of the will. Maybe Christina was disinherited because of the book, but what about Chris?
