I fukn luv the way The Verlaines use classical motifs really subtly in some of their passages. They do this w/out a hint of pretentiousness, which seems like a fatal flaw in so many bands -(I sure would be if I was in a super-cool indie rock band, and had tons of song writing chops)

Bought a comp cd called "Tuatra" in the early 90s and fell in love with NZ music instantly. Remember thinking 'what are they putting in the water to make such interesting, passionate musicians?, I want to drink gallons'.

Heavy 33. As far as I know, that was the only time that song appeared on an album - it wasn't on any of their other albums or singles.
