@mikeonfreeserve I use aimp2 player (similar to winamp, but uses less resources) playing in the background with no sound, this also keeps my nc6000 from freezing. I guess there must be at least minimal load on cpu at all times, or else it loses voltage
Just press firmly above F11 and F12 keys as you turn it on and then play a movie in the dvd drive which keeps mine going when it developed the power on problem.
