Yeah get back to work, learn on your own time, how dare you increase our understanding of the past and enrich yourself and our culture at my expense? This isn't what I pay my taxes for! I pay my taxes for pointless government think tanks, concrete council buildings, war and bailing out failing banks! All government spending must be geared towards making this country more of a dull grey morally bankrupt slab.

  • @Monkeymanmoog You are the tool. If someone steals money they do not earn it, to earn money you need to make the money in a fair manner.

If the state funds art they will want you to support the current government, yes, idiot. Hence why art should be funded privatly so it can be free and take on the state. North Korea is not only an example of the terror and failure of socialism but also the failure of state funded art.

  • @warriorprince1010 "As for a profit Lee makes plenty" So the simple fact he earns a living somehow disbars him from stating his opinion or somehow devalues it? By that logic no one earning wage in this country should have an opinion on the matter? You Sir are a tool. Secondly North Korea abusing the arts to help prop up the Personality Cult is hardly any comparison at all ;-) Silly rabbit ~

  • good old stewart lee, cant make a political argument without referencing crisps

  • Hmmmm ...should be studying ancient norse language in your own time and not while living from the tax payers pocket. I'm interested in theoretical phyisics and the great poets ....yet I studied information technology and moving image (the latter because there was a large modual on iconography.) If I can set the money aside I'd like to go the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and study multi-media technology (where there was never loans that could afford you vacations and multiple drug addictions.

  • To laika288 I did not go to university, as I could not afford it then nor can I afford it now. Thankfully I can write essays of no value without paying for them and just have my mates giggling at incoherent/nonsensical stories I write. It's worth every penny of free, it cost nothing to speak shite in an erudite way. See my irony. :-D

  • @cbsman95 You did not really listen to this did you?,

  • People need to wake up and stop thinking of the government as this mother figure. It is a system designed to protect and support elite institutions. They take your taxes, and spend it on things that do not benefit you or your family. In order to justify the huge tax they keep you in fear and they keep you ignorant. An educated population without debt, would rapidly transform your life for the better.
