The trick is to relax all of your muscles as soon as possible. Don't force yourself to hold the breath, just let your body do it. You have to be really careful though. If you don't have a large lung capacity, you can seriously hurt yourself. I have a large lung capacity. I can hold a note for forty five seconds, and keep up ball up for almost thirty. Luckily holding your breath doesn't take that much skill.
