@theecollective11 now you're asking. It must be over 35 years since I read it. It might have been on the cover of the LP I bought of the Liszt etudes d'etc, but it could easily not have been. But I DID read it somewhere!

@JCThomsonMA Berezovsky I believe is the only painist to have played all in one sitting. However if you can give me a source to prove me wrong I'll gladly accept. I do love Lazar's versions!

omg. i couldn't breath after that ended it was so amazing. so lightning fast and insane.
Berman owns all the transcendental etudes (second only to Liszt himself)!

wooooooooooooo... speechless... unreal speed. really brings out the barbaric nature of this piece - this is my favourite etude and I feel it really needs to be performed at very high energy, specifically emphasizing the crunching dissonances - those frequent minor seconds make this piece so unique! (among other delicacies : ) the Allegro Barbaro of the high Romantic era!
