Fugo Plasma Blade Non-Penetrating Glaucoma Surgery (NPGS) Part 1 of 2

World renowned glaucoma specialist, Dr Iqbal " Ike" Ahmed, presents a truly amazing lecture on cutting edge glaucoma technology. Dr Ahmed evaluates surgical trabeculectomy and then proceeds to present a potential candidate to replace trabeculectomy. Dr Ahmed presents plasma ablation with the Fugo Plasma Blade to erase sclera such that only a very thin layer of sclera remains. This thinned sclera is thin enough to allow eye aqueous humor to percolate through this thin sclera window and then filter into the subconjunctival space. Dr Ahmed explains that this erasure of sclera with plasma makes non-penetrating surgery simple enough such that most surgeons are able to perform this heretofore very difficult procedure.
