Real Super Stock 1968 Dodge Dart with 426 Race Hemi and open headers. Heading up to get the Tom Karay Memorial Award at the 23rd Annual Muscle Car Classic Car Show 8/02/09. This car was absolutely perfect in every detail. A true pleasure to view and hear. Copyright 2009 minnesota-muscle.com

  • @Lastwordismine in the realm of a zl1? what are you, and idiot? zl1 is a hemi dart wanna be. the baddest, fastest musclecar ever made. period. ss/a and ss/b classes exist, to handle this awesome beast. zl1 is just another chevie, with leaking aluminum heads, and a bunch of owners that werent quick enough, or smart enough to buy a hemi dart or cuda, in 68.

  • Hilarious. ONE Dart pulls in to a Pontiac show and suddenly nobody's looking at a Pontiac. There's a follow-up video that was taken 2 minutes after this of all the Pontiac owners taking sledgehammers to their own cars, cursing their heads off.

  • @killerdogs893 even though this is a 3 month old post... mopar did not dominate EVER now they did have some somewhat mnice cars but engines didnt flow air or turn rpm so they lost to fords and chevys quite often... NEVER think mopar was the fastest it makes you look like a dumbass

  • @SuperStockHEMI As far as your comment on Chevy's....Say what you will, but I can build one for less $ than a Chrysler product that will run just as well if not better. And it won't have a $hitty sounding starter!!!

  • @SuperStockHEMI I must have touched a nerve. Where should I start? They were 'Cudas in 68. In Feb 68 Chrysler Corp released a statement to all dealers notifying them of the availability of this car with the BO29 body code and either 4 speed, code 393, or automatic, code 395. As far as the production numbers, that is correct as well. A little over half of the 155 I stated were Darts, the rest Cudas. The one at BJ was number 2 not 1 and sold for 242k. You're on the internet, do some research!!!

  • @vf74tomcat You DON'T Know Half As Much As You Think You Do..THAT Is NOT The Total Production It Was Less And They WEREN'T CUDAS In 68.ALSO The FIRST PRODUCTION HURST Built BARRACUDA(BO29) Just Sold At BJ For $220,000 Fully Restored To AS RACED By It's Original Owner.ALSO If You Put Just As Much Money In A SHITTYLAY You Still Have A SHITTYLAY.I Have Owned SEVERAL Of These Cars And The Clones Aren't As Expensive As You Think Either.Unless You Know What You're Talking About I'd Keep My TRAP SHUT!!

  • I came this close to buying one of these...but I settled for my '02 Honda Accord. LOL.

  • I'm bowtie to the bone but I still like this car.Hey ,give credit where it's due.

  • @montey1017 Most cars like that don't make it to the track. Old men are pussies.

  • Chrysler only produced 155 race hemi Darts and Cudas combined in 68. While I have to admit I do drool over this car, I can build a Chevy that can keep up with it for ALOT less money. If you're lucky enough to find a "true" race hemi Dart or Cuda you couldn't afford it. Real ones sell in the 250-300k range. Clones will cost you around 75-85k. For that kind of cash I could build a streetable 10 second car and still have plenty of $ left over.

But, still, damn what a car.......drooooooooll!!!!

  • [insert uneducated fanboy comment here]

seriously, that is a nice car/restoration...any idea on 1/4 mile times?

  • its sounds nasty :)
