My father died age 57 from left ventricular hypertrophy, and a pulminery edema causing heart failure (in what order, i'm not sure..) It was never explained to me in understandable terms what exactly happens. Can anyone help? I understand the enlarged heart caused the lungs to back up with water, making him short of breath (which i noticed, and suggested a trip to the doctor) but i don't understand in what order these things happened and how it caused him to suddenly die. He also had flu!
