  • You have to understand this film in its historic context. The Lambeth Walk was from a musical of the day (the theatre was actually bombed by the Nazis). The song became a bit of a rallying march by Londoners of the day. Using it to ridicule Stormtroopers would have been utterly hysterical to Brits in the 40s. This is not just a film ridiculing Herr Schickelgruber by watching him march backwards; it's a rallying cry for British unity in wartime.

  • I was born decades after the war ended, yet I understand the historical context and why this is not only an excellent piece of propaganda but absolutely hilarious.

  • Yes very funny indeed ...but also very chilling. It must have been frightening for all the rest of the world in the 1930s as Hitler assembled such a huge military machine. Maybe we should try making a new film today for some of our current villains who also seem to be building huge military machines.

  • This makes it even better when British troops sing this on their way to Normandy in 1944..

    See Longest Day film..

  • Anything that mocks those Nazis is hilarious they deserve it, them Jew killing cowards.

  • @TehAsploder dammit, I thought I was the only one who thought this...

  • The first youtube poop!

  • better get used to re-runs, at the very least the USA is about to repeat history as the Nazi nation.

  • @rwaggs62 I don't know about that dis-arming allegation....the government prior to Hitler had passed significant gun control laws, Hitler actually watered them down somewhat but only for his thugs and cronies. The more unpleasant truth is that even if the general German population had had guns, they wouldn't have used them, because they supported Hitler....present selective recollections notwithstanding.

  • rwaggs62 says: ... to have power to crush them (the populace) if necessary...as Ol' Adolf did to all of Europe.....

Erm.....well, much of Europe yes, but no all of it! - he would have if he could but he couldn't so he didn't......his biggest prize in Europe would have been Great Britain of course, but he didn't quite make it, did he? We, the British, didn't allow him to, and that was more than a year before the USA was forced into WW2 after Pearl Harbor.

  • Not strictly true about Switzerland, it's every male of military age is required to keep his service weapon at home. This is due to Switzerland having a total call up in time of war.

  • they wernt funny, they were sinister criminals who didnt give a shit
