Ted Hawkins - Watch Your Step

The title track from Ted Hawkins' 1982 debut, released on Rounder Records. Hawkins spent most of his life as an anonymous street performer in Venice Beach, Calif., even while playing to sold-out clubs and concert halls as a minor celebrity in Europe. Most of his songs are original compositions, including this song here. He died Jan. 1, 1995.

Thank you Mr. Bear for bringing the great Ted Hawkins, may he rest in everlasting peace and tranquitlity, to Youtube. He must be smiling now knowing that his message is being carried on by considerate men like yourself. His music has given me so much joy, hope, and encouragement during the past 25 years that it's hard to imagine what it would have been like had Mr. Hawkins' music not been with me for consolation or celebration, since there's been cause for both.
