@MrFucurmom Correct, it's not hardcore yet most of the people creating this type of music came from a hardcore background just as Between the Buried and Me (one of their major influences) did, and how I slowly got into this type of music. Though, I agree this guy did just blurt out the word hardcore to a progressive deathcore/metal band. As for the word Djent, it's obnoxious and should never be used as a genre.

They're called The Contortionist because in the beginning they had to contort a bunch of dudes into one van when they went on tour.

@KalliopeKtulu Djent is an Onomatopeia. It's coupled with distortion to create the unique sound that you hear from some, not all progressive metal bands. (rephrasing my previous comment)
