I see police speeding without lights or sirens here on a daily basis. It is only a matter of time before this happens here...

Milford Police have released the chilling video of the crash that killed two Orange teens in June.

The video shows Officer Jason Anderson's car racing by another Milford cruiser at 94 mph before slamming into the car carrying Ashlie Krakowski and David Servin, both 19.

The dash cam in Milford Officer Richard Pisano's records his cruiser traveling around 70 mph and shows Anderson's vehicl More..e speed by.

Moments later, Anderson's cruiser collides with the teens' car, which appears to be turning into the path of the cruiser. The impact sends sparks and debris flying.

The video also shows a few things that arent obvious at first glance.

Anderson passes Pisano on the right, which is illegal in Connecticut, His lights and siren are off.

It also shows both officers drive through red and flashing yellow lights right before Anderson hits the teens' car at the intersection of Dogwood and Boston Post roads.

"It may appear that the Anderson vehicle is not traveling at that high a rate of speed but thats not true because to get a true perspective of the vehicle going in excess of 90 mph, you have to be outside of the vehicle going 70 mph," Attorney John Wynne, who represents Krakowski's father, said.

This impact destroyed the teens' car, threw Krakowski 30 feet from the car and trapped Servin inside until firefighters extricated him.

The officers were returning from a mutual aid call at the Utopia Café in West Haven and Wynne said the accident was completely avoidable.

"They werent responding to a call. Their lights and sirens werent on. It was 2:15 in the morning and they were just returning back to Milford," he said.

Anderson was suspended with pay from the Milford Police Department, arrested by State Police and charged with manslaughter. He is due in court on Nov. 24.

"His conduct was so egregious and reckless that it brought these deaths and that's why he was charged," Wynne said.

The Milford Police Chief will not comment on the video until after the internal investigation is completed.

  • This officer was charged with two counts of 53a-56 MANSLAUGHTER 2ND DEG and one count 14-222 RECKLESS DRIVING and is out on a $250,000 bond. He was not given any special treatment by the law enforcement agency that did the investigation.

Please do not judge all police officers by this one individual.

  • @CTMotorcop -thanks for the info. You are correct and I hope people don't judge all officers on things like this.

  • @Taylorxbox - no he did not have his lights or siren on. If you want to become a cop, you should look into the facts before you say something. Put yourself in the kids shoes, see if you could judge a cars speed coming at you at 94 mph. It was reckless driving, and totally unnecessary.

  • what a fucking idiot, could have swerved off to the left hard instead of that pathetic attempt to stop at the last second.

  • Looks like those teenagers had a poor judgment of speed and distance over time. Unfortunately for those, they won't get another chance to learn from their mistakes.

  • I am from CT and witnessed a state trooper wreck and flip his cruiser on it's side doing the same thing! The trooper was FLYING with no lights & siren and a young male driver pulled out from a side road. The civilian looked and thinking he had more than enough time, pulled out into traffic. The civilian could not however tell that the trooper was going no less than 80 mph. This was in a rural open area and the trooper was FLYING! As the civilian pulled out thinking the trooper was more than far

  • a sad scenario for sure. all in all when your sister is getting raped by a prison escapee on a Kroger loading dock and police are responding, aren't you glad they may catch the bastard before he works his way to your fiance?

  • @deatthkid66 The accident occured in Orange, CT on the Boston Post Road at the intersection of Dogwood Road

  • Oh shit!

  • I followed an ambulance home late one night from work, about 2am, and the person driving it was going in excess of 80mph. No lights or sirens, not going anywhere. I followed him back to my hometown and he was returning to his base of operations. He pulled up to the garage at the ambulance station and backed in and shut the door. Talk about abuse of power.

  • It even says that the sirens and the lights were off so don't fucking say it was the teens fault because it wasn't fuck that cop and I hope he burns in hell.

  • Cops think that driving through the orange cones at tha polic e academy for 2 days, enables them to defy the rules of physics....and common sense.
