Flying around Bend

Took my camera and went up for a nice little hour flight in a Columbia 400 around Bend, Oregon back in May of '05. It was a great day for flying and not a cloud in the sky. Flew by the Three Sisters, Broken Top and Mt. Bachelor. Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, Diamond Peak and Mt. Ashland were easily visable.

Cool vid. I took this same ride a few years back but didnt have a video camera at the time. The pilots over at the Bend airport are really friendly and love to see someone walk in for a plane ride. That was my 14 year olds first plane ride which made it even cooler:-) Thanks for posting.

(until recently) my sister worked for lancair and then Columbia. She might have even done the upholstery in your aircraft!
Great video, I especially enjoyed the view of Mt. Bachelor. Liked the song as well, reminds me of David Byrne / The Talking Heads.

Hey, thanks for the comment! I actually worked for Columbia when this was made...this was a sort of "incentive" flight I guess. What was your sisters name, I probably knew her!

I loved the Bend/Redmond area. Just moved up to northern Idaho...gonna do a "Flyin around Sandpoint" vid this spring.

Hi... what altitude would you say you were at when the camera was looking at the three sisters? Nice vid, and I like the music, myself.

I think we were at about 10.5. I didn't really look at the altimeter until we were over Sunriver.
