A Didactic Christmas

Once upon a time there was a lion...
What kind of lion?
Red of hue.
His friend was an eagle coloured blue.
Really?!
Really...
Two more friends the pair did make:
One a badger, one a snake.
Second green, first yellow was...
Really?!
Really.
They all lived in this huge castle...
What kind of castle?
Real, of course:
With towers, dungeons, and oak doors.
Really?!
Really.
And they had this Christmass tree...
What kind of tree?
Bigger than me,
Large as this entire room!
Really?!
Really.
They decked it with ribbon veils:
Lion used teeth, snake its tail,
And his beak the flying critter...
And the badger?
He sprayed glitter.
Then, around midnight (give or take),
"I'm off to bed", announced the snake.
"Santa won't be before morn"
And they all slept until dawn.
But the snake was really mean:
He swiped all his three friends clean!
As soon as the first light broke
The snake vanished up in smoke
Taking all the gifts!
Really?!
Really.
Therefore kids,
Lest he your own presents lift...
Never take a Christmas break
In the company of Snake!
