Barnaby Joyce: How many droughts will the carbon tax prevent? asked to Senator Penny Wong

( http://wakeup2thelies.com ) On the 12th of October 2011 Senator Barnaby Joyce asked Senator Penny Wong a very good question. If the government says we need the carbon tax because climate change causes droughts, how many droughts will be prevented by the carbon tax?
Senator Wong doesn't answer with a specific number so Senator Joyce asks for one.

Senator JOYCE:
"The question Mr. president says: can the minister confirm how many droughts will the government's carbon tax prevent?
So we're looking for one drought, two droughts, 10s, 20 per cent of droughts. Because the
Prime Minister has said it would reduce droughts, so I just want to know how many droughts it is going to prevent?"


And if you're wondering what the answer to the question is, I will give you a direct answer:
The Australian carbon dioxide tax introduced by the Labor/ Gillard government will prevent ZERO droughts.

Why is it hotting on the whole of Venus, including the poles and at night time, than Mercury at the equator at the hottest time of the day? Because of the greenhouse effect which is over 90% CO2. Question 1) If Carbon Dioxide drives global warming, how is it that we have had six major ice ages in the the earths history yet at those times the atmospheric carbon dioxide was far higher than it is now?

Question 2) The temperature increase during a 24 hour period is far more than what they say global temperatures will increase over time due to climate change? How is that more dangerous to life than the changes in temperature that is experience during this 24 hour period?

@roguemale57 The planet has been warmer than now, and had higher CO2 levels, During these times life became abundant. The worst times for life and human society was during natural cold periods. Famines and plagues correlate with cool periods. If you are worried about habitats, why are you so hell bent on keeping so much of the planet under permafrost? Why is it good to have a valley full of a glacier and bad to have it full of trees and animals? Why the negativity? Because this is political.

@roguemale57 Even if the frequency of storms were increasing, that doesn't prove humans are causing it. To say that there is a theory that CO2 increases in the atmosphere cause warming, then to use any warming and associated effects as proof of your original theory is not good science. You could use any possible cause - say number of ice cream flavours, and if warming occurs does that then prove your theory is correct? No. It's ludicrous. The best science looks into the past.

@roguemale57 Wrong. The climate is NOT warming constantly, and it is not warming in proportion to the CO2 increase. In fact it cooled for some tears last decade, which blows your CO2-warming theory out of the water. Now it's actually warming at a slower rate than that predicted if ALL co2 was cut (see Hansen graph). Sea levels rise naturally regardless of human activities. Again, any SL variations do not prove human CO2 output is causing it. Reliable wind speed records only go back to 1950

@channelhismojo Because, climate science is complex it's just too easy to sidetrack it with politics'. You can come up with expert opinions supporting your view & i can do the same with mine.But, 3 things are for certain the earth's climate is warming, sea levels are rising & we are experiencing more extreme weather - these facts are indisputable. If these events are a result from natural processes then so be it. But, if they are man made-then we stand accused of doing nothing.
