How are they pets if you ate them? That's... not a pet. Breeding an animal to eat and owning a pet are different.

Also, what I think people object to is the fact that you call them pets. They look great, though. There's a local restaurant that serves craw dads in the afternoons. They're great!

As a point of fact, I think you suffocated them, rather than drowning them. The beer has a lot of carbon dioxide dissolved in it. They can breath under water just fine. There's just no oxygen in beer.

well technically they were 'pets' till the day we decided to cook them. From then on, these crayfish are now just farmed for consumption.Can't see why people get so banged up over roasting these buggers alive. Most seafood restaurants do the same all over the globe.

its so funny reading all the comments saying its cruel and inhuman to cook these little buggers like that, but yes, this is the way restaurants cook em to keep them the freshest. Heck, crustacean meat is one of the fastest rotting meats and eating them fresh is the best.
