I don't like the shunning that some religions encourage. It seems so un-Godly and judgmental.

The kids are being taught to be too easily led. Kids need desperately to be taught to question and how to think.

The women's lib movement was funded by the Rockefeller's in order to get 50% more taxes and use the vanity of women to promote a need for sht you just dont need. Now we have 12 year olds getting pregnant and running around in thongs. These stupid boys now dress like clowns because some guy on tv gets ass by acting like a moron. Our country has turned to shit.

Also though, you should know that amish differ from community to community. I know a lot of Amish do not influnce shunning at all. And some do not even hit children. I know I am blessed to be in a good anabaptist church. It is strict but, safer than the community you were in of Amish. A lot of Amish who leave come to my church. They come to the mennonite church. Great video:)

the daughter describes remembering her father hitting her with a belt....I thought that the Amish didn't use belts but use suspenders instead?

Amish children can leave if they want to. Research Rumspringa. Her father used a belt? When I grew up we didn't need a police officer in our schools, the teacher would bust your butt if you misbehaved.

I think the Amish are very "human", look how strong these women are, and how they talk in love and without fear... I think we can learn a lot from these people!
