Has the range actually been TESTED (as in actually running it around a track), or is the 100km range just a guess?
Is it production still on track for the 2nd half of 2009? (in the video at 4:20).
There are many videos on YouTube of a larger MDI car, including ones from early 2004 that say production is expected to begin in late 2004. What happened? When will the larger car (MiniCat ??) start?

@yanikivanov Yep you'd buy one with it's 5 mile range, 6 hour recharge time, and hideous inefficiency.

It's too bad they won't sell this car in the United States . This would make a great 2nd car . Where is the convertible top? Do the windows roll up? If they can sell the car as cheap as they claim, it would definetly be the next world's voltswagen beetle.

I take it from all your videos etc, you never saw any speed or distance runs. So you are like everyone else in the world........waiting for the impossible.
Dude, did he say the range is 19km?!? That is practically nothing. on the website it says 100km range. Is he misspeaking? Did I misshear?

He said 90 km range mono-energy. It's the French accent where 90 sounds like 19.

CATvolutuion, can you explain why this isn't being rushed into production, considering the kind of world climate we are experiencing, and How is OPEC reacting to the development of this car?

these guys are going forward according to their schedule, not OPEC or the oil prices. I felt the same way, when oil hit $60 a barrel.
Oil will stay above $100 forever now... even if all the cars were air cars now, there are many things that oil is used for and china/india/japan/U.S. demand is always growing.
but i'd take any air car that they have now. :-)

i'm not an expert, but instead of using little gas-fueled explosions to push the pistons, it uses air pressure to do that.
but seriously, i barely know how regular gas/deisel engines work, but i do know how much more expensive it is to fill up a tank, and do oil changes.
I say this prototype running and it was freaky awesome. i'd say more but they are very protective of this car and i signed a NDA.
