Not that I'm ungrateful, but dear CBS, also give us DS9 and Voy in that kind of quality. Just imagine all the awesome DS9-Space Battles, not to mention Voyagers glorious effects (imagine a 1080p Bluray Spezies 8472 ... )

I think the CG-effects in Voyager would look a lot more CG than they already do. Species 8472 was nicely done and would look great in 1080p, but most of the ship CG's would look a lot weaker and cartoonish. Maybe they have the means to enhance the CG-effects somehow to look more real, even in the Blu-Ray version.

I think the studio model scenes are the best material for Blu-Ray. Converted to 1080p, they look like very good CG-shots and they can also add some more details later.

@StarTrekMarco Yea, the CG model was very quickly made, the errors would stand out even more... most of the hull patterns on the CG model were texture materials...

@CJCA915 That's right. I once enhanced the quality of some Voyager episodes via a computer program and you could really see those texture issues. It looked almost like the newer mod-version of the Intrepid class in Star Trek Bridge Commander (PC game). I guess they (Paramount) didn't care for the HD-future, like J.Michael Straczynski did with Babylon 5. It was a thing of budget too, of course, like always.

@Arthuris2390 CBS recently announced that they want to do the same thing with DS9 and Voyager, but it depends on the success of the TNG release. In other words, buy this and make it happen!!

@camwow13 That's the observation lounge and you could always see someone walking in the windows even back when it originally aired. The Tech Manual actually specifies that it's supposed to be Picard.

The Enterprise looks horrible, its looks very cartoony even though its been improved for HD

@kadvid Ken Ross, Executive Vice President and General Manager of CBS Entertainment issued a statement saying, "Fans have been clamoring for a high-definition release of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Transferring the series to high-definition presented difficult technical challenges, but our team has come up with a process to create true 1080p HD masters with true HD visual effects. We can't wait to show fans how pristine the series looks and sounds with our upcoming Blu-ray releases."
