I think you should move the rosewood neck to the alder and the maple to the ash... the alder guitar will have fat tones.. and the maple will solo like a wild cat. cheers. nice playing

The differences are actually much, much more due to the body wood (northern ash vs. alder) than the scale wood.

Awesome demo man! Personally I like the warmth of the rosewood. But if I may make a suggestion, when doing such a demo, maybe best not to put any effects so one can really hear the raw sound. Just sayin. Still, nice vid! :)

@fendergibson154 Thanks for the compliments - actually the effects on the clean examples were minimal - just a little echo and natural reverb from the amp - as for the rhythm and lead examples they were just overdrive and echo...

It's all just improvised off the top of my head - not any specific song, just kind of riffing in different styles - some of the dirty rhythm stuff after 2:50 has a little bit of a Van Halen feel, but it's not any exact song...

@rhye999 They sound a lot more different in person - the compression from the YT conversion masks a lot of the differences - the blue one has a sharper attack and a lot of sustain, but has a bassier, more scooped sound overall - I like to use it more for ballads, especially with the floating trem. The maple has a smoother attack but is clearer overall, and I use it more for rock material because it has a lot of definition to chords. Chris Klein's pickups make both sound great though...
