I finally paddled up my 990 and took it to the sand - it was a really soft day there, the wind had blown a LOT = difficult to ride on a 500+ pound beast.

I have a LOT more respect for the Dakarists who muscled these things through the dunes in Africa with no paddle tires.

  • Great video! Did this behemoth really put the smackdown on the 450s? lol

  • @theburgerboy At the sand drags, yes...but only out at the end of the strip, where I could really put thepower down. Almost everything is even at launch in the sand as you can only throw it as fast as it fills the paddles...

  • 460 pounds. *gasp*

  • @desertgeologist 460 dry...add fuel, a rack, HD tubes and some other stuff and it's well over 500.

  • I almost bought one og those. Damn. Regrets. Big time.

  • @robbynelson3 I might have to sell mine ot move out of the country and I fear my regrets may feel the same way as never having bought one...

  • The most ugliest grasshopper bike ever .... Sick

  • funny, a bit heavy for sand... compared to a classic 450cc... but the LC8 engine is just really fun. Nice vid.

  • i like the enthusiasm of taking this giant in the sand but... i think the dirt bikes still do quite a bit better. not that it would be fun to wrestle with that tank for a few minutes, it must get tiring.
