Das Leben der Anderen - Georg Dreyman

Clips from the movie "Das Leben der Anderen" arranged to portray the development of the character Georg Dreyman throughout the movie and the life in the DDR. The song is "Mad World" by Gary Jules, whose lyrics fit perfectly for the storyline.

We were inspired by a sentence that Minister Hempf says to Dreyman in the beginning of the film regarding his belief that "people don't change". During the course of the film we believe that Georg is indeed changed by all the other lives around him.

In our montage Dreyman is playing "Sonate vom Guten Menschen". The clips of him playing piano are in color, because we wanted the rest of the montage in black and white to resemble his memoirs.

Georg Dreyman is the only one of his closest relatives to be alive in the end of the film, so this is him telling us his story.
