I hope y'all don't mind me crying. It wasn't something I could really help. It just happens.

  • This video must have taken some courage to make. Thank you for making it and sharing this with us. Here in the uk we didn't hear much about what had happened to the survivors, only about the 'looters' who were supposedly causing havoc in the dome.

I am so glad you not only survived the disaster but also for surviving the last 5 years. YouTube is a much richer place with you on it. I would hate to not have had the pleasure of seeing your videos over the last few months.

  • @footynutguy I'm not making light of the situation in New Orleans in the least. A lot of really nasty things happened. It's events like that in which you figure out not only the true nature of yourself, but also in the society in which you live.

  • ....Wow. That was extremely powerful. I'm sorry for all your loss. It looks like it changed you and helped you become an even stronger woman today. There are girls who cry because their boyfriend leaves them; you've been through something harder than that. It'll give you strength to do things that will be difficult in the future. I can't relate to what you've gone through. But I'm glad that whatever you went through you survived. :)

  • @xravenxstarx Make no mistake. I cried with my boyfriend left me too, lol. But, things are easier in general when you consider yourself a survivor instead of a victim. That goes for anything.

  • I know how you feel my dear..we have come so far in these past 5 years. Things haven't been easy, but we are making it through..Loves you springet

  • @cloudsfall Love ya too. One day, I'm going to have to get the group of you on camera to talk about CHS.

  • @splicegrrl No. Thank you. Really, thank you. Knowing people like you are out there, wanting to listen, is the only reason I was brave enough to do this.

  • I'm so glad you made this video.

I have read so much about Katrina, heard so much about it, and seen so many photographs and films of the aftermath, but there is nothing compared to hearing the experiences of those who lived through it and their reflections on what they lost in the storm and what they gained in its wake.

Your resilience and strength, as well as the strength of your community, are remarkable under the circumstances. Thanks for your honesty & vulnerability in sharing your story.
