Much to her discomfort, Darlene writes a poem for school and wins a prize. And to make things more embarrassing for the tough, sports-minded teenager, her teacher asks her to recite the poem in front of the entire school.

The acting on this show was unmatched by any other sitcom. Considering the upbringing of Roseanne and Jackie, it seems like these are the things they always wanted to say-but were either ignored or afraid to say. I love how Dan and Rosie want something better for their kids-even though the kids rarely saw it, Reminds me of my folks so much.

This poem is amazing. It feels like this poem wasn't ment for a t.v. sitcom, it feels like it was ment to be one of those famous poems you read in books by the world's most famous poets. It's so simple but so true c:

I didn't watch this show when it was on prime time, but mom and I would watch it because it came on between Cosby on Nick at Nite. This was an excellent poem, and pretty much sums up what it's like to be a 13-year-old girl who isn't in the "cool kids group." I know, because I was one once. And still feel like it!

This show was actually really underrated, it had amazing writers and I think the acting is unmatched by any other sitcom even today. This scene always makes me cry.

Everytime I hear this it reminds me of how hard being a teenager can be. It's very touching and sad. Roseanne's show was so great people don't give her enough credit, they only remember how difficult she was said to be. I hope she does more television. The girl who played Darlene was wonderful too, and so young. What a talent.
