the cart is an axel and 2 wheels, a pool noodle for padding and a little lift, and a bungie to hold the kayak .
the tow hitch is a shower curtain rod with a coat hook screwed to my bike rack behind the seat.Towed my kayak to schooner wharf almost a mile, very easy.

  • Is there anyway someone can give me photos/video or specific instructions to make the tow hitch? Does it have to be attached to a bike rack? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • @yorastaagirl better than that a company makes a thing called "a dumbstick" it is so cool I'm going to get one but the basic concept is more elegant thank the shower curtain rod in a bike rack that I used and it can come on and off its a brilliant idea look for it on ebay or youtube

  • Simple is good! I like the coat hook on beam idea. How does it work when you stop abruptly? do you have a loop or pintle hook on the rope or wire used for towing? That would probably keep it from swaying or coming unhitched.

  • @stopglobalswarming I don't know what its called it's a latching hook thingie , rope or wire would cause sway the latch is on the kayak and latches to the hook so its solid

  • @stopglobalswarming yes its one of the key chain things but it goes through the eyelet on the kayak itself not the rope, much less swaw and jerk when peddling

  • nice trailer but what are you wearing???

  • @adkbeau not prada...

  • nice.Good job my friend.A flag some where wouldnt hurt from a dummie in a car bumping into you at a light or something.

  • @virgkw Ok, I see, so it is perhaps a keychain with a spring-loaded closure, that you have tied on the rope coming from the kayak? That makes sense now. I see how that can hold on to a coat hook.
