A short clip of Tali's loyalty mission using the Razer Hydra, powered by Sixense. I'm much more impressed with the responsiveness when playing Mass Effect 2 than I was with Mass Effect (not that ME was bad). As you can see it plays very smoothly and even for a bad sniper like me headshots become pretty simple. Of course the infiltrator's bullet time doesn't hurt... :)

A couple of things to note: first, --yes--, I modded my Widow for more ammo. I'm a cheater! Second, you'll notice you didn't see me intentionally reload at all during that video. It's not that it doesn't work with the hydra, just that I didn't study the mapping enough and was rotating the controller the wrong way. Oops!

  • I am curious as to how far the intergration goes. On games such as Mass effect 2 and Crysis 2 do you still get the prompts for either the 360 controller or mouse, or does the game really recognise that your using a hydra controller?

  • @Scape452 There are only a few games that *natively* recognize the hydra, so for instance you can't change hydra binds in-game like you could with a gamepad. However I never need to actually use a mouse or gamepad to play. For someone unfamiliar with the game it's probably not a good controller to start with, but once you know the mechanics you can very easily adapt to the hydra once you've gotten familiar with the hydra binds, which can be set and changed at will out of game.

  • "Sixense" made a unique praiseworthy invention, but "Razer" made a troublesome cheaply-built end product.

    LT trigger is stuck!

I bought my Razer Hydra the day before yesterday and I don't recommend it for its faultiness. Too many people are complaining about many issues ranging from cursor "Jitter" to sticking triggers.

Jitter can be due to other electronic devices - producing electromagnetic field - placed too close to the base station or keeping the controllers far away from the base.

  • OMG! Respect!

    *dies*

You're almost the whole time shooting with the sniper riffle! RESPECT, really.

I never used the sniper riffle in any MEs, cuz I never could shoot the target... Damn me.

But I think the gameplay looks great and it 's much faster and easier than with mouse.

I play with my touchpad, I can't use mouse... o.o'
