Aren't civilian casualties an inevitable part of war? Were the RAF war criminals for bombing Dresden during World War II? How could the IDF have gone about confronting Hamas and protecting the Israeli people, while avoiding civilian casualties?

Hamas was firing rockets at schools and neighborhoods in Israel, using Gazan civilians (in hospitals and mosques) as human shields. Using *human shields* made it impossible for the IDF to target Hamas without also hurting civilians. Hamas refused to confront the IDF openly, instead choosing tactics which endangered the lives of civilians. The blood of this war is on Hamas' hands.
