Amie & Ian: The Proposal

The back story: I called Shauna (Amie's roommate) and asked her to kidnap and blindfold Amie -- and somehow do it without tipping Amie off that she might get proposed to.

Shauna did a great job -- she told Amie that she had wanted to take her to some really cool place the night before, but because Amie was out of town she wasn't able to. Amie totally bought it, largely because Shauna is known as one who pretty much NEVER lies.

In the mean time, I was racing down to Provo from visiting my family in Sandy earlier that day. My brother Jamie, sister Kelley, and brother-in-law Marshall all came along as well to help document the event.

I took my position in the middle of a grass field where Amie and I have had many heartfelt conversations. Jamie and Kelley are the ones behind the camera, just lying on the grass. Marshall waited in his car with his headlights on in order to get the proposal spot well lit.

And there, we waited...
