In communities across Oregon, CAUSA and our allies mobilized immigrant rights supporters for Comprehensive Immigration Reform during this crucial month in the Congressional Calendar: August Recess.
The August recess is an ideal time for us to catch our Representatives in their district, where our base is strong, and we can encourage him to support humane and just immigration reform.
Congress needs to pass Comprehensive Immigration Reform in 2009: the time is now, and it's the right thing to do. To get there, we need to reach the crucial number of 279 votes: 218 votes in the House of Representatives, 60 votes in the Senate, and 1 President.
Oregon's Congressional Delegation are key votes!
Why we need Comprehensive Immigration Reform?
• The immigration system is badly broken: it splits our families and hurts our communities
• The need for Comprehensive Immigration Reform is urgent, and the time for reform is now, this year, in 2009.
• We need to pass Comprehensive Immigration Reform because it represents a workable solution that moves our country forward and acts on our shared values.
Go CAUSA! This is great.
