Children are Gods gifts, and an extraordinary one is handmade as Eunice.
--Youngest of the brood of five, Eunice springs exceptional challenges to her family. Days after her first breath of Life on November 12, 2000, she was diagnosed with a congenital visual impairment (VI). Dexterity of available medical intervention saved not much of her sight, but the vision of love and faith did not fade.
Yes, God must have spent more time with Eunice. As a VI, special care was bestowed upon her as the youngest in the family. But, indulgence and endearment have been drawn to her naturally for she gleans hope and inspiration as she grows, not only to her parents and siblings, but to her generation. She inspired her mom, Mae, to pursue doctorate studies on Special Children. She tapped her dad, Moises, the compassion to public service. They enrolled her in music and art classes vis-à-vis formal school. She learned to play the piano, drums, lyre, and few other instruments with exceptional ease. She mustered verbal and logical skills readily. Indeed, Eunice spell an extraordinary gift from God.
Nothing really seemed to single out Eunice from her peers except her thick binoculars at a very fragile age of three. She managed to move around and play apparently normal as possible. She even shunned the use of a guiding cane, saying, Indi ko ya bulag, which literally means, Im not blind. Indeed, Eunice proves that she can do away with the cane.
The giftedness that Eunice exhibits as she grows turned her stunning VI condition into amazement and pride for her doting family. Recognizing the exceptionality in her enigmatic gift of glib and golden voice, her entire loving family, especially her grandma, Primitiva, showered her with all the support to nurture and hone the innate genius and flair of talents that she possesses.
Today, Eunice is ready to share her talents with us. It is our chance to be inspired by her musical giftedness --- the voice that will magnify our zest for a meaningful LIFE.
