Private mints in the US are printing gold and silver coins. Congressman Ron Paul would like to see those coins in circulation. If businesses decide to accept these coins, would it mean the end of the dollar? Or just a big mess?

  • The American dollar is not backed by anything except the good faith and credit of the American taxpayer. Most Americans have lost faith in the system, and have no credit.

  • no one with dual citizenship should be in congress or our government agencies...the state department are filled with pro israel and pro war hawks...time to kick those bastards out...government should be controlled by americans only!!!

  • This will ruin the U.S.D......

  • @shadowcodehacker FINALLY SOMEONE WHO KNOWS!

  • nothing new, been doing it here in the UK for years, tends to be popular in tourist destinations so people have to exchange sterling for local currency and spend it there, more money comes in

  • @coturnix19 NOT EXACTLY, the Original U.S. Dollar, was about 1 oz silver piece,

going BACK on Silver and Gold would merely TERMINATE the power of the InterNational BAnkGangsters to create fiat money and buy our Legislators with it.

and restore stability of prices and wages with honest money , i.e. gold and silver.

  • @williamwagener putting stuff back no real gold standard would mean dollar will be no more. On gold standard, money names are just monikers. And dollar would be exacltly equal to drahma or rubles...

  • nearly ALL midwestern communities, of which I know, have used scrip for years and years! at Christmas time and for fundraisers and to promote keeping local businesses alive.

  • @shadowcodehacker. Is being pro-Israel a problem? Doing what the USA is doing right now doesn't seem to be helping Israel. Wouldn't Israel benefit from America getting the hell out of the middle east?(and no longer subsidizing it's enemies) I think it would, cause I tend to trust Ron Paul.

Looks like the neo-cons and progressives are endangering America as well as Israel.

  • With their controls of ALL media outlets there isn`t a chance to recover the republic

  • Its happening. Dollar will be obsolete, if it is NOT PUT BACK

on the GOLD STANDARD. with Real GOLD.

  • I don't think nationality matters, i think we should elect our representatives to represent our beliefs, not blind patriotism, or a coorporate interest, or a growing israeli empire. The 2 party system should be abolished. Then again what do i know i'm a dual citizen.
