Patton High Wright Stuff at State Competition

Patton High school won second place at North Carolina Science Olympiad state competition with this plane. It flew 2 mins and 54 secs and was rubber band powered.

You need to alter the propeller pitch in order to find the right resistance against the air, if the pitch is too coarse, the aircraft will not fly very well and the propeller will not turn very quickly, if the pitch is too fine (probably your case) the propeller will turn too fast, unravelling the rubber band but not using its energy to generate thrust, but rather to speed up the propeller.

yea..seriously. thats about 3 times the height we got for state. im lookin foward to seeing you guys at nationals...im assuming you are going since you placed second. im doin the wright stuff, so i can truly appreciate what an awesome flight that was in this video.
