I watched "Left Behind" recently. I couldn't help thinking that God was the bad guy. The movie starts out with the state of the world being really bad. But just when people start working together to make things better, God steps in and says, "no you don't!" then takes all the Christians up to heaven. The resulting panic and chaos allows the antichrist to take over the world.

Another one - I've seen "rapture videos" where a elderly couple is having tea together and the wife vanishes, leaving the sad old unbelieving man alone. So, now the woman is happy with Jesus, even though she just left her husband of 50 years to suffer through the tribulation and burn eternally in hell???? WTF??

Exactly. Christians are selfish. They want to save their asses from the fire. They will believe whatever they are told if they think it will benefit them. Which is more noble, being a good person for no reason or being a good person because you'll get an eternal reward?
