A 90,000 foot high weather balloon takes GoPro photos and videos from near space. A 10-foot weather balloon, 5 foot parachute, and a beer cooler makes for a perfect photo opportunity for Modesitt Mirages. The Cache La Poudre Canyon with Colorado's only Wild and Scenic river is seen in the upper right corner. Longs Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park is visible with snow on it in the center of the horizon. The South Platte River can be see reflecting the mornings sun showing off its' mile wide and inch deep reputation. The capsule was retrieved in the Pawnee National Grasslands east of Fort Collins using a SPOT Messenger system. Movie and photos by Brad Modesitt
