In this part actress Adepero Oduye talks about playing the lead role of Alike.
The independent coming of age film "Pariah" written and directed by Dee Rees opened Jan. 15, in Atlanta and several other cities. The film gives audiences a rare glimpse inside the LGBT community. The film features two break-out roles for its main star Adepero Oduye and Kim Wayans who plays her mother. It is Wayans first dramatic role and she nails it. Before the film opened a screening was held in Atlanta and I got to interview the three aforementioned ladies and producer Nekisa Cooper. Spike Lee served as executive producer. Rees served as an intern on Lee's film, "The Inside Man."
