    Not even close, bands that fail to be popular at home can become huge if they succeed in Japan. Examples are Cheap Trick and Anvil. Cheap trick got no where in America but became huge in Japan. When they released Live at Budokan it wasn't even released in North America, but some copies got over here and they took off.

    Anvil was totally on the skids, but sold out in Japan and now are popular again.
