While it's not as psychedelic as more acclaimed Spiritualized albums, Sweet Heart Sweet Light delivers a solid set of songs that return to the band's best old school ideas, and refines the more straightforward tracks that have been featured on recent releases.

    What is your favorite Spiritualized album? Lazer Guided Melodies has always been my favorite. I feel it is the Spaceman's masterpiece--it has a sonic clarity and purity missing from subsequent sessions, an audiophile's dream (my favorite album of the '90s, alongside A Storm in Heaven.)

    Echoing juck below, yes Jason is an atheist. His music is about redemption but not in a religious sense. He uses religious imagery to illustrate his thoughts on love, death etc. By the way I'm impressed that you got through the whole review without mentioning drugs! (which is one of the band's primary inspirations)

    Jason Pierce is not religious. It seems that your lyrics are veering towards a very religious direction, are you becoming a Christian rock band now? I’m not very religious at all! I just like to ask questions that are difficult to answer, questions about life, love and the planet. I could write about death, I have no fear of death.
