  • maybe a stupid question , how do u get back from alang ? do u get picked up by small boat or u travel on land and then by plane ? greetings

  • After beaching had been completed around 1700 lt The crew waited up to 2300 lt for ebb tide to come. At about 2300 all crew left the vessel using pilot ladders. Thereafter, we went in hotel by bus, to change clothes and to take some rest. Next morning we left India with plain to final destinations. Greetings.

  • when i used to be a crewmember aboard a cargo ship that was sent for scrapping, i walked off at the dock and refused to sail her,

  • Everyone do on his own... for me it was something that happens to someone maybe once in his life and I really wanted to be there. Regards.

  • how much this ship was sold for ?

  • @khalid6591 it was confidential even for me

  • A lot of MSC ships there for scrap, was that to cover the salvage cost of the MSC Napoli??????

  • @SPILICE hi..these vessel was beached in our yard.........

  • As a Merchant Seaman myself this is heartbreaking to see on so many levels.

I can hardly keep a dry eye when I think about the ships I sailed on that have gone to the breakers.

  • How is something so large able to slow down so fast???

  • incredibile come ci siano così tante navi ad alang!quanti anni ha navigato questa su cui eri a bordo?

  • MSC Chlorinda was indeed a 'young' ship & had years of life left in her. She was a victim of the world recession that affected most countries. Sea trade levels went down dramatically & there were far more ships than cargos, so she went for scrap. Look at all the similar ships around her. Most are good ships with no traffic to carry, so they go for scrap. Its really sad to a ship die like this, but its the reality of life.

  • And so the world goes round. Lovely set of videos

  • The Clorinda looks to be in good shape. I'm surprised they sold it for scrap.
