I also like how Apple is a bigger innovator than .... Google!!!!!!! Just because of a clean objective-c implementation of a POSIX OS!!! Yes, it's good engineering. Innovation?? No. Apple designs are simple default designs 100s of companies have used, but they just create myths (screen has X size because your thump has X size, BULLSHIT) to sell their designs.... I used better mp3 players before the ipod (which only became a hit where Apple heavily promoted it) and better laptops before macs...

Samsung designed and sold the first iPhone-like smartphone 2 YEARS before the first iPhone was developed. Unfortunately it run windows mobile. But it had the (completely default, nothing smart about it) design that Apple propaganda convinced the world was their creation. Apple excelled in 2 areas:

-they had a nice operating system, based on objective c

-They had an extremely aggressive marketing campaign with cult-like characteristics(paid agents, evangelists, wild myths about usability design)

Apple was actually SHIPPING the Newton within a year or two of this video. What was Samsung doing in 1995? Making shitty second-rate televisions and radios for people who couldn't afford a Sony. Samsung would be nowhere today without the contributions of the REAL innovators in this industry. Apple, Microsoft, IBM and to a lesser extent, Google. Samsung simply cranks out cheap plastic shit, just like they always have. The only reason it does anything worthwhile is because of the work of others.
