NOTE: The speakers, TV, and Apple iPod Dock shown in this video are the only major components I still use; everything else has been upgraded, and I now have a couple new components. I'm going back to college at the beginning of this coming year, and I'll make a new video of my system at that time.

Here's an equipment list:

Speakers:

2x Paradigm Atom Monitors (fronts)
1x Paradigm Cinema 110 C (center)
2x Paradigm Cinema ADPs (surrounds)
1x Paradigm PDR-10 (subwoofer)

Electronics (Shown in video):

A Yamaha RX-N600 (A/V receiver)
A Sony DVP-NS710H (DVD player)
A Maxell iPod dock
A Sony Bravia KDL-32L5000 (HDTV)
A Panamax Power Conditioner

NEW Electronics (ones I have now):

An Anthem MRX300 (A/V receiver)
A Sony BDP-S570 (Blu-Ray player)
A 60GB Playstation 3
A 160GB Apple TV (Music server)
A Nevo C3 universal remote with RF Adaptor

(I still have the TV and the power conditioner, but I no longer use the Maxell iPod Dock because it won't charge my 64GB iPod Touch).

  • Hey have you ever heard of wharferdale speakers? I came across some online but just wondering if you have heard them or anything.

  • @lizardmannnn Yes our family has a Wharfedale Diamond-series surround system in the living room (I may make a video of it eventually). They are very good speakers. What models are you looking at?

  • @falkenlaser I was looking at the Wharfedale Diamond 10.1 vs maybe something like a Paradigm titan monitor for mainly home theater use which would you choose?

  • @lizardmannnn Paradigm no longer makes the Titan Monitors; they recently came out with the Monitor Series 7 (which it's a big improvement over the S.6), and all they have for bookshelfs now are the Atoms and Minis.

But, the Diamond 10.1 would be more equal to the Atom Monitor as far as size goes. I haven't heard the Diamond 10 series, but considering how our 9.1's compare to my Atoms, I'd say the Atoms would be better for movies. The Atoms have a "brighter" sound than the Wharfedales.

  • i got them brand spanking new from a dealer on audiogon.com. offered $240. shipped. my atoms are v6

  • @cadnyc Okay if it was from Audiogon, then I'd say they're probably safe. Just so you know, Paradigm does not authorize any Paradigm dealer to sell their products online. If you buy anything they make off the internet, it won't have a warranty, and there's a chance the product could be damaged or even a bait-and-switch. So if you ever add more Paradigm speakers to your system, get them at an authorized storefront dealer.
