The new bike/hike trail in Decorah, Iowa is nearing completion. This is a short look over the handlebars as the rider zooms along this super cool trail. This 12-mile loop is a gorgeous ride, passing along and over a trout stream, through hilly farmland, along the Upper Iowa River and skirting the edge of the city. It passes by the famous Decorah eagles nest of internet fame and past the State Fish Hatchery where feed can be bought to throw to the pens of young trout.

What an amazing video and thank you so very much for sharing this with us. I have been watching the Decorah Eagles since the little Etew hatched, okay for those who are used to alpha numerics (E2). Was so nice to see the area in which they live at. I can no express how much I really loved this video.

That's pretty cool! Nice job! I don't bike but some in my family do,they have been sent the link to this already.
I was born near Decorah,there's some very nice wooded hill country around there in Winneshiek and Allamakee counties. Great back roads to tour with one small caveat,many of them are gravel roads. Get into the hills,take it easy,look around,hop out and sit by a river,you'll like it.

Hi, yes, I purchased a little device that allowed me to mount a camera with the standard 1/4-20 camera thread on the handlebar and just roll along. The low mounting makes the speed look a bit faster than reality but I was doing 30 mph coming down the back side of the hill according to my speedometer! Probably not advised as a blowout would have undoubtedly resulted in injury. Thanks for your comment.
