I built a small render farm by 3 desktops and 1 laptop. This is its render performance and speed test result demonstration.

    Dear balakiran336

Do you mean that you have tried to render the image in three different systems at the same time, such as Max OS X, Windows and Linux??

I haven't done that at all before. So, I haven't encountered the problem. And I can't make sure that Mental Ray Satellite can render an image in three different systems at the same time.

Could you please offer me more detail information??

    Thanks so much.

  • very interesting, as you able to explain to me or recommend me a good tutorial to make my render farm...

I am so sorry to let you wait for my reply so long. I am too busy to write a tutorial. So, I found a tutorial from internet. I hope it can be helpful for you. But youtube doesn't allow to paste an URL here. So, I typed them as shown below. Hope you can understand what I typed.

  • Dear tronicvaio,

Sorry for the late reply, The issue is, If we render a Maya2012 scene in 5 windows systems using Mental Ray Satellite there is no issue. But If we import Vue9.5 scene to Maya2012 and try to render it in Maya2012 with the same five windows systems using Mental Ray Satellite we are getting only some parts of the image is rendered and other parts showing black spots. Let me know if there is any solution or i need to use other rendering engines/techniques. Thanks.

WELL!! I am so sorry to hear about the news from you. But I don't good at Softimage XSI, So, I don't know how to find the solution for you. Perhaps Autodesk will launch some fixes or newer version for the issue. And I hope so.

  • @tronicvaio Thankyou for your help! I will look in to Backburner more closely.

  • @DV7Dave

OK!! I found the backburner user manual from internet for you. However, youtube doesn't allow me to paste the URL. So, I typed it as shown below. Hope that URL can help you to set backburner up.

  • @tronicvaio Looks like I'm installing 2011. It is only school work, so it should be fine. I have installed Backburner, but it didn't seem to have the features I require. And I don't have a week to spare to learn how it works. Thanks for all your help!
