Taking Pictures,Show us Your Papers

I Do Love these Guys. They could NOT have been more Professional and Polite. I know these Public Servants would not Hesitate to Risk their Lives to Protect the American People. They are in a precarious situation. I'm sure they mean well, they are probable acting as instructed by their superiors. I believe there would be a point where they would act in a way as to honor our Constitution and not follow orders that could violate the citizens rights............ I had taken pictures of a Boarder Patrol vehicle as B.P. drove out of a park. As I was told I would be detained for the reason of taking pictures. After refusing to produce an Government Document (Their was no probable cause) 1st officer called in Backup. After 2nd B. P. arrived is when they walked up to passengers side window. I had stated many times my name and address, ( Yes, I edited out some Video ). I thought the stop was very telling, and I have no regreats with my actions.

You might want to rethink this. If you were operating a vehicle which it appears you were, then you HAVE to surrender your license when stopped. That is Michigan law, which I am sure that you have read

@cimasgro I guess you are why our Constitutional Rights will soon not exist. Our 4th Amendment to the Constitution is clear. The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated. But what the heck, this comes from a old Document. The people should not have Rights, or be Free. What was I thinking?

I'm all for sticking up for your rights, but in this case, it's a no-win situation. Do you actually think the cop is going to say "okay sir, you're right, you don't have to show ID and we'll be on our way." There's no way in hell they'll give in to that notion because it will make them feel that they are wrong. You think that cop is going to walk away as if to say "you win?" Not a chance in hell. You could be 100% right, but they will think they are right.

Suspicion comes into the equation when his answers become vague and evasive. As for cops asking for your id while operating a motor vehicle, you might want to rethink you answer, because in most states when you sign for your license, which is the property of the state, you are signing that you will surrender your license to a peace officer upon request. you are WRONG

@bassbuggy101 Ok, so now tell me what the 2nd Amendment has to do with this man taking photos. And explain to me why you think this man should be arrested for disorderly conduct. Why are these border patrol agents stopping him? Do they think he is an illegal alien? They never once accused him of committing a crime, therefore they had no right to stop him or force him to provide ID. So no, I don't think you respect the 4th Amendment.

First of all these are federal agents not local peace officers, they cannot conduct traffic stops and cannot ask for ID unless they suspect you of committing a CRIME. Filming is not a crime.

Second even for a police officer to ask for a drivers license you have to be under suspicion of committing at least a traffic infraction. Which he is not under suspicion of. The police cannot just walk up to you and demand ID just because you are operating a motor vehicle.

But just because we have the right to bear arms, doesnt mean we can all run around with our guns! There are laws regulating stuff! The constitution is not the all mighty book of laws. @cimasgro Since when does Border Patrol make traffic stops? Did they suspect he was an illegal immigrant? These agents were clearly working outside the scope of their duties and should have called a local LEO if they thought this citizen was committing a crime.
