Have you tried using iSSH, from the appstore, to issue the mount command? This way you won't need the macbook.

can u drag video files on to the ipad from the external hard drive in ifile?

@mshem227 Yes, the problem is finding an app to play the videos. I think GoodReader supports ".mov, .mp4, .m4v, .3gp". As long as you convert to that, you should be fine

@mshem227 Nope, at least not in GoodReader. There may be another app that plays AVIs for the iPad, but I haven't seen one yet. There's VLC for iPhone, but the resolution is greatly reduced

OK so why isn't there a /dev/disk1s1 doesn't exist on iPhones. I've even downloaded the ipad firmware decrypted it and found nothing in the /dev/ folder.

So say if i were to copy /dev/disk1s1 device file from a working ipad over ot my iphone 4, would it work?
