You start the commentary with the use key (e by default) while looking at a thought bubble. You can then pause the commentary with the same key.

Btw, can you tell me how to turn it off?? Or does it turn off by itself?

@RealityBend - Yeah! I have the same question. I turned commentary on, but I can't remember how I did it and I can't find the option to turn it off. I can't earn achievements and the game calls me a cheater when I play an advanced level...

Start a new game. Then quit and load your levels as normal. Commentary bubbles will now disappear and things will be back to normal.

it is off by default.how do you turn it on and then not know how to turn it off?
