I was a kid of about the same age growing up in Northern England when this was made,i remember the film so well. A wonderful film of childhood innocence that depits the times so well. They just can't make films like this today because innocence disappears at a much younger age unfortunately. One cherished memory of early years this filmnd strangely i can watch it over and over,my kids all watched it too when they were younger.Talk to anyone of my generation and they all remember it with affection

Oh 'M', you'll never live it down, if Miss Moneypenny see this clip of you in that hat there! But a great little film, this one. Shame that Brian Forbes didn't make many more of this kind of quality though. I have to say though, that my main memory of him, is when he was in those British 1950's various army and crime themed films along with the likes of Sam Kydd, Victor Maddern, Alfie Bass and the rest of the usual suspects of those days.
