This is just an exquisite performance, which rates with the best of 'em. I'm very proud of the kids for this beautiful and sensitive rendition, and thanks go to Ms. Lisa, our videographer/friend, for requesting the song to begin with. (....and for everything else you do!! XOXO).

It seems somehow appropriate that our final PS22 Chorus debut video for 2009 should be this somewhat somber and reflective song by amazing singer/songwriter Sarah McLachlan. It will be hard to say goodbye to 2009. It was an incredible year for the chorus thanks to Perez Hilton, Ashton Kutcher, Tori Amos, and all the fans who continue to give their unsolicited support to our music program and the kids involved. Thanks for sticking by us throughout this incredible year and helping to earn our children experiences that have continued to change their young lives. We are so grateful to you all. So while I'm sad to see this year's end, one can only imagine what 2010 is going to bring the PS22 Chorus, as each year the kids have continued to rise to new heights.

As for the song itself, Eddie & Leah do a spectacular job on the duet, and the chorus is just mind-blowingly good here. It's official -- the PS22 Chorus of 2010 has arrived, and we know they'll only continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming new year! Thanks again to all of our supporters, celebrity and otherwise, for reciprocating whatever inspiration these amazing students have brought to your lives and mine. The happiest of holidays from PS22!!

  • have you ever thought about choreography with these kids? i've noticed they always dance when they sing, they could definitely pull off something glee-like!

  • NO choreography. a big part of the magic of the performances is that they're choreographing themselves. glee is glee. ps22 is ps22. :)

  • OMG!! this is the Friday morning version?

I echo the the song selection kudos! Great Job Lisa!

  • yes on all accounts! :)

  • @ Gregg: The blogspot-link is incomplete.

@ song: It's impressive how the kids manage to convey the melancholy of this song with such veracity - especially the heavy-hearted "Merry Christmas" line. Love it.
