@capnquack yes youre right, my comment was insensitive, having never had OCD I guess if their partners were with them before the onset of these symptoms they must think that this can somehow be overcome with the right treatment. I think I would probably want to be alone if I had these compulsions but you probably need society and companionship even more. But I think it ultimately ends up in the non-OCD partner having an inrodinate emotional burden.

@franz0woyzeck Few do think that. OCD and depression go hand in hand. In general, you really think that they are going to leave. That they SHOULD, even. Even though that would kill you. They generally end up with someone who is either willing to put up with it, or who is such a bleeding heart that they couldn't leave you if they tried.

Understand that OCD is a big problem, but I really find it funny that these people somehow think that their partners should suffer with them and their compulsions. I really doubt if these types of disorders are going on as much as in the US....

@310BPM yes, i have OCD and have been on Paxil for 8yrs, it works great for me.

@autismpete this is just it.. Personally i'm not a psychiatrist. I'm not equipped to deal with this kind of thing. I could never be in a relationship with someone like this. I don't have the skills. It's not just About Them. Shit like this doesn't just Affect Them. I have a life too and it would completely fuck my life up to be with someone like this. And his life too.. because i'd become a bitch to be around.

I have OCD ,My boyfriend doesn't acept me, he does not want to be with me because he say I have to find a cure for my OCD, because i'm not normal or common...... I'm a human , a person, don't judge us, I understand perfectly this woman.
